Falling in-love with Matabungkay's Coral Beach

There will always be a reason for a person to fall in-love. It could be because of a particular event, or a certain person who have caught his or her heart. The difficulty in finding that one thing worthy of one's affection or, in this case, admiration is hard to conceive. At times, liking and loving something results from disinterest leading to enlightenment. Such is the story behind my falling in love with Coral Beach Club in Matabungkay, Batangas; I was not a fan to begin with, but spending a night was more than enough to win my respect for its people and the resort they call home.

No matter how much they call it home, I see and consider it paradise

A conceited way of looking at vacations and weekend escapes is that everything has to be perfect as how

Creating memories at One Tagaytay Place

If a place’s reputation is built by its people then One Tagaytay Place has been built good and sturdy. Upon seeing the hotel and experiencing how things go at their better than cosy establishment, I would say that it has transcended my traditional view of how hotel service is defined.

It is surprising to know that such a fine escape can be found in Tagaytay, what with the many hotels, inns, and hostels that have proliferated all over the city. Boasted as one of the better venues for both business and social events, One Tagaytay Place offers the best service to groups, couples, or even individuals who intend to stay either for relaxation or official functions.

Big Daddy's Chicken (大鸡排) : One of the better chicken stores in the Metro

Out on the holiday of Eid ul-Fitr, me and my best friend were looking for a place to eat at for lunch. Despite the enormous size of SM Mall of Asia, we have tried practically almost every food place within the mall compound. To our luck, we saw the MoA branch of Big Daddy's Chicken (大鸡排) on its opening day.

It's almost impossible to miss this orange-themed place because of the striking color and the undeniably appetizing smell; it is just a few steps away from Toby's, Mall of Asia

Their best seller is the original chicken (marked with a red BDC logo right next to it) which sells at Php 80 for a Chop (w/o rice) and Php 90 for a set with rice and soup.

The beauty that is Hangzhou

Words are not enough to express how pleasant a place Hangzhou is. Located in China's Zhejiang Province, Hangzhou has seen the rest of the Mainland transform from a laidback society into an aggressive (and progressive) global economic giant. Perhaps its location helped Hangzhou keep in-tune with local traditions, and rich culture.

There is an old saying in Chinese that goes: 上有天堂,下有苏杭  (above, there is heaven; below, there is Suzhou and Hangzhou), one that depicts the popularity of Hangzhou throughout ancient China. True enough, my first visit to Hangzhou was nothing short of magical--it captivated me.

In hindsight, although Hangzhou is relatively smaller than most places in China which stretches several hundred miles it will take a lot longer than one week to explore. Experience taught me that if you wish to see the beauty of the place, it is best to visit it at least four times a year: once per season. The reason behind this is that like flowers, a different side to its beauty blooms each season.

It was Spring when I saw it the first time. Green sceneries, chirping birds, and lots of sunlight filled the area. There were occasional rain showers but not enough to deminish my appreciation of Hangzhou. Summer is a completely different experience as you'd find being indoors drinking tea quite a trend. Regardless of the season, you will see that local tourists find Hangzhou worth visiting and understanding.

Local folk regularly meet-up for morning activities such as Taiji Quan as most older people do all over China
